Re-Framing the 90s conference at UCC, Cork

EVA Director Matt Packer will present a paper on the emergence of the curator and curatorial identity through examples of EVA editions in the 1990s, at a conference taking place at University College Cork, 2 – 3 November 2018.

Reframing the ‘90s brings together artists, critics, curators and art historians to examine the art world during this pivotal decade. Discussing practice alongside institutional factors, it will examine the ways in which the art world was operating, considering key changes and developments in order to investigate the significance of the 1990s for Irish practice. The conference includes presentations from a number of central figures for Irish art during this period, including Alice Maher, Vivienne Dick, Danny McCarthy and Valerie Connor, as well as a keynote talk from art historian and critic Fionna Barber.
