Welcome to the EVA International Newsletter for July / August highlighting the most recent news and upcoming events in the EVA calendar.

#1 Opening Programme of The 40th Edition

  • We are delighted to announce the opening programme for the 40th EVA International. Launch events begin on August 31 with opening remarks by Prof. Kevin Rafter (Chair of the Arts Council of Ireland) at the Limerick City Gallery of Art (Pery Square, Limerick) followed by a drinks reception at the Gardens International venue (Henry Street, Limerick). The opening programme includes an in-conversation event with Sebastian Cichocki and James Bridle, introducing the thematic basis of the Guest Programme, The Gleaners Society. There will also be live performances at the Record Room by Antonina Nowacka, bela, Sharon Phelan, and music curated by Féile Na Gréine. A screening schedule at the Belltable will feature films by Bryony Dunne, Jeamin Cha, Jumana Manna, Jessica Sarah Rinland and Frank Sweeney. #2 Partnership with The Grove and artist Navine G. Dossos

  • We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with The Grove veggie kitchen (Cecil Street, Limerick) as part of the Guest Programme of the 40th EVA International. The partnership between EVA and The Grove will involve the work of international artist Navine G. Dossos in the development of a large-scale mural, tableware, and paintings – all set within the interior of the cafe. For further information please click here.

 

#3 Partnership with Limerick Twenty Thirty and Gardens International 

  • We are delighted to announce a new venue partnership with Limerick Twenty Thirty for the 40th EVA International. Artworks by Platform Commissions artists Sarah Durcan, Frank Sweeney, Cliodhna Timoney, and Amna Walayat will be presented at Limerick’s iconic Gardens’s International building.The 4th floor space has been made available by Limerick Twenty Thirty for the presentation of new work by Bea McMahon, following the fire at the Sailors Home, where the artwork was originally scheduled to be shown. #4 EVA Sweatshirt Fundraiser Edition

  • We are extremely grateful for all of the support that we have received regarding the devastation of The Sailors Home. We are now taking pre-orders for the fundraiser edition EVA sweatshirt designed by Kian Benson Bailes produced by Print Shop for the 40th EVA International. #5 Visitor Engagement Programme 

  • We have began welcoming a new team as part of the Visitor Engagement Programme following an engagement team social event at The Commercial Bar and inductions in the EVA Office and Archive. The visitor engagement team will play an important role in mediating artworks with public audiences, providing outstanding visitor experience for the 40th EVA International.
