EVA + Féile Na Gréine: Siren Song (Katie G O’Neill, Roibí, Princ€ss, & Belacqua)
1st September 2023
9pm
EVA partnered with Féile Na Gréine to celebrate the opening of the 40th EVA International with Siren Song – a curated music programme featuring performances by Katie G O’Neill, Princ€ss, Belacqua and Roíbí. It followed the earlier event Citizens United: A Speech Act by Sharon Phelan.
Katie Gerardine O’Neill is an artist from Dublin whose haunting sound combines voice, field recordings, analogue recorders, and electronics.
Princ€ss are an expansive Dublin supergroup surrounded by a degree of secrecy – sources claim that this performance in the Record Room will be their first public appearance.
Roibí is a multimedia artist and self-proclaimed popstar who infuses queer club tracks with references to the sounds and aesthetics of early internet and PS1 era videogames. Referring to her experiences as a transfemme raised by the cyberspace she aims to carve out a space for radical queer expression in an act of defiance against the cishet matrix.
Belacqua is the pseudonym of Galway dancefloor wrecker Dion Doherty, who will bring his dizzying repertoire of wonky beats and leftfield stompers to end the night.
