Azbuka Strikes Back, 2023.

Artistic interventions on the school grounds of Thomond Primary School that explored notions of race and colonialism as part of the tradition of children’s educational literature from former socialist nations in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. Works included a sound installation, a public event, and the spelling of the name Thomond Primary School in Ukrainian on the windows of the school’s main building.

Slavs and Tatars is an art collective, book publishers and researchers based in Berlin (DE). The collective has presented work at public arts institutions and galleries including Villa Arson, Nice (FR), M HKA, Antwerp (BE) and 58th Venice Biennale (IT).

Leah Feldman is a writer and researcher who lives in Chicago (US). A publication On the Threshold of Eurasia was published with Cornell University Press in 2018.

The works have been situated at Thomond Primary School for the primary benefit of pupils, staff, and attending parents of the school. General public access is limited.
