Citizens United: A Speech Act, 2023
A sonic fiction that took its form as a sound composition and performance, incorporating artificial entities, synthetic voices, and ideas of communicative capitalism. By exploring the way in which speech has become distinct from the individual, while language, listening and being together has been co-opted for capitalist modes of production, the work drew on research into the politics of citizenship and its contingent sonic traces. This performance took place on 1 September 2023 at The Record Room as part of the 40th EVA International opening weekend.
