Séamus Farrell
b. 1965, England
Until the late 1980s on St John’s Castle grounds, where there were families in council houses (like the semi-derelict ones still in the neighbourhood), today you have remakes of medieval scenes and sets for the visitors. So I made a ruin, with domestic belongings and appliances embedded within its brick walls. A large recuperated window is engraved with images and quotes around the Irish famine and politics.
