Patrick Killoran, Autobody 09 (Willie O'Brien), 2000 - 2005, roving city-centre taxi

Patrick Killoran

b. 1972, Pennsylvania

Autobody 09 (Willie O’Brien) illustrates that the human body is the primary vehicle in which we navigate, cross borders and engage the world. The car functions in a similar way, being a self-contained space that clearly divides the personal from the social. The taxi becomes an extension of Willie’s body. This project is a reminder that the flesh is a border, that the skin is the point we meet the world, and that our daily activities are a constant journey and exploration.
