I’m interested in finding alternative ways of bringing different artists and their works together. In this investigation I place myself between the creator and facilitator. My projects tend to be initiated and materialised by me, while at the same time functioning as platforms for artists to make new works, demanding a different approach to their practices. My projects are mobile: they can be taken home; you can comfortably engage with them with your head rested on a pillow. I like to provide that comfort. At the same time I intend to provoke some kind of stirring in the brain – a reorganisation of thinking patterns retained through habit.

My interest in ev+a arose after having a conversation with an artist who had sent her proposal to ev+a. I was told that the concept was a secret, no one knew. Of course the curator would know, but I became interested in creating an independent link between the artists. For this purpose I decided to re-enact a round robin project carried out by Lucy Lippard in 1970, where she asked each artist to provide a situation within which the next artist was to work, so that the works created one cumulative, circular piece.

I proposed to invite all the artists chosen by the curator Zdenka Badovinac to participate in this round robin project. Organised in alphabetical order, the first artist will, in any means suitable for the printed page, create a situation for the following artist, who then responds, and his or her response sets the situation for the third, and so on, until all the artists have been included. The project is in process until all interested artists have submitted their contributions. You can follow the development of the project on line at www.eva.ie.
