Kateryna Aliinyk

Three paintings that recalled the landscape of the artist’s childhood in Luhansk, Ukraine, now heavily transformed by the full-scale war and ecocide. The works depicted agricultural spaces where land mines, shrapnel, and human remains forcibly coexist with the natural world.

Kateryna Aliinyk is a painter and writer, who lives in Kyiv (UA). Aliinyk has presented work at public arts institutions and galleries including Museum Folkwang, Essen (DE), Stadtmuseum Berlin (DE) and BWA Wrocław (PL).
