In our research and inspection practice, we keep track on the question of how role figures are constituted by space constructions and which formal and aesthetic representation patterns are behind these constructions. Often the starting point of a work is the inspection of places. On this occasion, we take on given roles and examine the contained structures and patterns in it. In our installations, we deconstruct discovered sign systems and set up multi-medial [sic] complex structures. At that moment, the exhibition place acts as a stage which involves the viewer in the narrative. In this connection, basic conditions of the institutions are included as working material, and arranged with media like video and sculpture to a spatial frame of reference. By these theatrical functionalities a vocabulary is provided, which involves the viewer as a co-producer of meanings.

The title of Paul Lafargue’s 1880 publication was cut in the grass of the public space behind the Hunt Museum (which used to be the custom house). Whereas the letters are trimmed during the exhibition’s duration, the surrounding grass will grow further. The arrangement of the letters reminds us of a labyrinth formerly seen in pleasure gardens. Choosing the green space behind the Hunt Museum reflects the idea of public spaces.
