Few Can See, 2023

Few Can See examined the legacy of broadcast censorship of the conflict in the north of Ireland and political movements during this era. The project attempted to recreate material absent from state archives due to censorship, based on contemporary oral history interviews. Few Can See was commissioned by EVA International as part of Platform Commissions initiative.The set design and restaging of the work’ presentation at the 40th EVA International was developed in collaboration with artist Michelle Malone. Few Can See was screened as part of EVA at Belltable programme on 2 September as part of the 40th EVA International opening weekend.

Frank Sweeney is an artist working with film and sound who lives in Dublin (IE). Sweeney has presented work at public arts institutions and galleries including Centre for Contemporary Art, Derry-Londonderry (NI), the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin (IE) and Temple Bar Gallery and Studios, Dublin (IE).
