Responding to the historical Treaty Stone, a significant public monument in Limerick, ENSO created a new treaty for a modern-day Limerick, as decreed by its people from collected opinions, thoughts, aspirations and aims gathered during the ev+a exhibition through a series of interactive initiatives within the city. An online blog was created (www.limericktreaty.com) on which the public could post comments and thoughts anonymously for inclusion in the treaty. ENSO have also been been active on the streets of Limerick with a video comment booth, interviewing the public about their ideas for a new treaty for Limerick. In order to interact in specific community contexts and issues, ENSO contacted various local community groups and city officials to respond to the idea of the treaty. Finally, an information point, installed as part of the exhibition, gives people a further opportunity to view the processes leading to the creation of the treaty, to add their comment and have their say.

A New Treaty for Limerick is a document created for the purpose of reaching an agreement in reference to terms of peace, reconciliation, understanding, compromise, harmony, reunion and freedom from strife. It attempts to address all contemporary social issues within the city and propose possible solutions. It will be donated to the people of Limerick during the ev+a exhibition.
