b. 1971, Ireland

For this exhibition I submitted a series of drawings. These pieces consist of densely worked linear patterns drawn in pencil. The patterns explore our sense of living in a highly ordered world surrounded by multiple systems and structures. Through drawing, I investigate an innate human ability to perceive patterns and to process the enormity of visual information which we encounter in our daily lives. Through science we have come to understand ourselves as complex beings of a highly intricate structure, which recede the boundaries of mind/body, self/other, science/nature.
